Because of building regulations in Portugal,
there has to be a steel-concrete structure
in all villas and houses, therefore we put
our special attention to the execution of
the foundations.
The foundations are dug as a strip and
filled with steel reinforced concrete. Then
they are levelled up to the hight of the
floor slab, filled with earth and compressed.
As drainage we use a layer of gravel, which
then is covered with a plastic foil. Then
the floor slab is re-enforced again with
a steel wire mat and then filled with concrete.
The floor slab covers the total area of
the foundations, including the outside terraces,
which afterwards are tiled.
